AGO have booked a spot in ESL Pro League Season 8 with a 2-0 victory over EnVyUs in the relegation stage's upper bracket final.
The series kicked off on AGO's map pick, Overpass, with a triple-kill from Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom helping Envy to secure their CT-side pistol. The Poles instantly replied, however, and took control of proceedings, rallying to a dominant 8-1 lead from there.
That was when Envy were finally able to get their second round on the board, but AGO did not let the Frenchmen string any rounds together, losing only one more until the break to bag a crushing 12-3 lead.
Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer's men still found a lifeline in the second half as they picked up their Terrorist pistol round, but the Polish side responded with a four-round streak to lock down the map.
On Envy' map pick, Train, AGO got off on the right foot, winning their first pistol of the series, which they followed up with the subsequent anti-ecos. Dominik "GruBy" Swiderski then helped his team to win the first gun round with a fantastic ace, which propelled AGO into a 7-0 lead.
In the next round, Envy managed to finally break through the Polish defence with a fast B execution. That round sparked a great run from the French side, who brought the deficit to three by the end of the half.
AGO came from the break eager to tear Envy apart, and won their T-side pistol with a aggressive A execution. After securing both anti-ecos, AGO lost the first full gun round but hit back immediately to take a 14-7 lead.
Happy called a tactical pause to halt AGO's momentum, and the French team responded with nothing but pistols to keep themselves in the game. Envy would go on to bring the deficit to four rounds, but the Poles would not let a comeback happen, however, and strung two rounds together to seal an easy victory.
